It is so awesome to be able to celebrate Father’s Day this year, well…I have always celebrated Father’s Day by honoring my father, but this year is different. This year Father’s Day takes on a whole new meaning…this year, I am to be honored on Father’s Day. I will not lie and say that I am not looking forward to the gifts and/or cards, but this morning the best gift Bryce could have given me was time! I got to get up this morning and spend an hour with just the two of us. It was time for his morning feeding and it was awesome!! It is in times like these and especially today, Father’s Day, that has made me think and think a lot about the role that I do and will play in Bryce’s life.
I have spent a lot of time thinking about how I will father Bryce and the thought of it is so exciting and also very overwhelming! I love the fact that I don’t have all the answers right now, that I don’t know all that I am going to face, that I am clueless on some things, that I am going to mess up, but the thing that really excites me…is the fact that I get to DISCIPLE my son for the rest of his life. I am Bryce’s chief discipler on this earth… what a HUGE responsibility! With that in mind, I must ask who am I following, who am I learning from, who am I watching?
