Surfing the Internet you can come across some weird stuff, some corny stuff, and some good stuff. Here is an article about a young lady making a stand for purity. Take a moment to read the article:
Teen Girl Banned From School for Chastity Ring Heads to Court
If you notice in the article this young lady is not from the United States. The sixteen year old resides in England. She is fighting for what she believes is right in a place that is considered to be spiritually dead. Even if she loses, I hope that some people wonder and question why she would stand for this and investigate it. God can use anything for His good and enlarging His Kingdom.
What stand do I need to make for my faith? How about you? How can we (youth pastors, youth leaders, youth workers, parents) encourage or students to take a stand for what they believe?
What are your thoughts on the above questions or this article?

Alden,
I actually have two thoughts here. Once we accept a job or know we are going to a certain school we are given the dress code. Which we choose to accept or decline and move to another place of employment or a different school. She knew the dress code and knew the ring was a violation - so is she actually wearing the ring to get attention or is she fanatical?
But if the school is allowing a double standard then should we sit by why a nation embrasses the religion of other gods or do we fight to have our rights also? Or do we win them through relationship versus outward signs of jewelry.
I don’t know the answer here? Certainly we could rare the head of spiritual indignation.

sounds like a double standard to me. I’m thankful that through her stance there are more that know about Jesus’ plan for sex before marriage. Wish someone would have been in my face about sex when I was in my teens! Other than my boyfriends!
My stance is to love one another….at all times. My biggest is while driving down the road (avoiding road rage). And using my turn signal and following man’s laws of the road (the speed limit!) Why is it that we get into our cars and forget all our manors, laws, and love for one another. Slow down and love people ALWAYS!!!

Tina,
I love the question you posed, “…do we fight to have our rights also? Or do we win them through relationship versus outward signs of jewelry.”
Very thought provoking…I think it is a delicate balance of both. We cannot be out to prove a point everytime we turn around, but we must also remember that we must LOVE our neighbors as ourselves. Also we have the CREATOR of the UNIVERSE on our side and should be afraid to make a stand for Jesus because, I believe that He does want us to make stands, but only through his prompting and strength.
Delicate balance…but all comes down to following the Lord’s leading. If she is following what God is telling her to do…PRAISE THE LORD…if NOT, then my heart breaks.
Thanks for the comment Tina!

Jane,
The issue of displaying your love for Jesus while you are driving is very hard to handle. I think we have all gotten frustrated, felt rage, or anger while driving. Driving, at times, becomes so selfish…we only worry about where we are going and our car, etc.! Good thoughts…we do need to love more!
Thanks for the comment, Jane!

I’m sick and tired of this hypocritical reverse discrimination against Christians and this “political correctness.” Forget political correctness.Live by God’s correctness. Live black and white cut and dry by his standards, and BOLDLY at that. Other religions can be up in our face and make us change laws in about two seconds flat. It’s about time some Christians stop being pansies and stand up for their Lord.
