Alright, I am in the middle of a crazy stretch of a speaking schedule (10 things in 10 or 11 days). Tonight and Sunday are the two things that I am JACKED up about. Tonight I am speaking for FUSE, the high school ministry of NewSpring Church, and I have not spoken at FUSE in a looooong time! Actually, the last time that I spoke for FUSE, I spoke on the issue of sex. Needless to say, it was tense, fun, and amazing all rolled into one message. Anyways, I am really excited because this will be the last service for FUSE. On Sunday, I am speaking for IGNITE, our middle school ministry, and this will be our last service. I am excited about the message God has laid on my hear to share with the Middle School and High School students that attend NewSpring.

I know some of you maybe asking why are both of these ministries having their last meeting all in the same week? What is the deal with this and what in the world is going on? Is NewSpring no longer doing middle school ministry on one night and high school ministry on another night? Well, the answer to that is YES! NewSpring is no longer doing IGNITE, middle school ministry and FUSE, high school ministry. We are going to be changing things up a little, well actually…a whole lot.

Beginning on October 31st, we will be…….

meeting together (6th grade-12th grade) as a UNITED Student Ministry, on the same night, at the same place, at the same time. Over the past couple of months, we have really felt hat God is leading us to try something different. There are many reasons for our change.

Here are a couple of the quick reason why we are making a change:

  • The current facility we are in, the 2Seven, is at max capacity and we are not going to be in our new building for another year. Currently, we are out of room to grow and if you are out of room to grow, you will NOT continue to grow. Solution: We are going to move to the main auditorium on the NewSpring Campus. (This will give us over 2,000 seats to grow into!)
  • We believe that we will better stewards of the resources God has given us.  We will also be able to work/excel in our individual strengths and passions as a ministry staff.
  • Most importantly, God is leading us in this direction.

I think that this move and change will be amazing stretch of ministry for our students and our church.  We are looking forward to this and I cannot wait to see what God is going to do!

With that said, most of my post will be focusing more on student ministry as a whole instead of being middle school specific.  I am looking forward to journaling and blogging about our experiences.  I got to run to prepare for FUSE tonight!  Peace!!

Starting on October 21st and concluding on October 31st, I have to speak 10 different times and many different places (High School Service, Middle School Service, Middle School First Priority, Christian School Retreat, Student Ministry Service, etc).

So much preparation equals not a lot of post time.

Got to run…please pray for me during this crazy, awesome run!

If I were able to place a ballot for the Top 25, this would be my ballot for after week #7 of College Football:

  1. Ohio State
  2. Boston College
  3. South Florida
  4. Oklahoma
  5. Oregon
  6. LSU
  7. South Carolina
  8. West Virginia
  9. Southern California
  10. Kentucky
  11. Virginia Tech
  12. California
  13. Florida
  14. Kansas
  15. Hawaii
  16. Texas
  17. Auburn
  18. Tennessee
  19. Arizona State (If they lose, still playing at time of post.)
  20. Georgia
  21. Texas Tech
  22. Michigan
  23. Penn State
  24. Kansas State (If they win, still playing at time of post.)
  25. Rutgers

No rhyme or reason to the madness, just crazy thoughts.  Any suggestions or thoughts?

Question from on College Gameday: “Should California be ranked #2 in the country?”

Answer: “First of all Cal, beat the leader of the SEC East right now, Tennessee….”

SEC East Ranking

1. South Carolina: 3-1, 5-1
2. Florida : 2-2 , 4-2
3. Georgia : 2-2 , 4-2
4. Kentucky : 1-1, 5-1
5. Tennessee : 1-1, 3-2
6. Vanderbilt : 1-2 , 3-2

From the rankings I have seen the SEC East leader is University of South Carolina? I love how you can be the #5 team in the conference and be LEADING the conference. I wonder if I am looking at the wrong standings or what? Has there been a change that I did not hear about about? Or has there been a change in the way the standings are read? Someone, please help me figure this one out!!

Once again why am I NOT surprised.  It continues once again that we try to keep God out of our lives and politics.  We must realize that He created them both and He cannot be shut out if we expect to continue to exist and thrive!  We have so many problems and we wonder why….Let us guess what the problem might be.

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”  2 Chronicles 7:14

#11 South Carolina Gamecocks beat the #8 Kentucky Wildcats.

AP Polls now rank South Carolina #7. Our highest ranking since 1984, with our only loss coming to the #1 team in the land (LSU).

WOW! I am loving it!

There is a lot of talk about the Gamecocks, but one comment that blew me away was from Perry Noble, who said: “Clemson did lose and I was sad…and, I HATE to say this–BUT…I think the Gamecocks may be for real. Props to USC…they are playing great football. (And once again…I HATE SAYING THAT!)

Mad props to Perry for saying (writing) that! For anyone who knows him, he does not like my beloved Gamecocks because he is a HUGE Tigers fan!

Here is the AP Top 10:

  1. LSU
  2. California
  3. Ohio State
  4. Boston College
  5. South Florida
  6. Oklahoma
  7. SOUTH CAROLINA
  8. West Virgina
  9. Oregon
  10. Southern California

1 Corinthians 11:1, “And you should imitate me, just as I imitate Christ.”

What a BOLD statement! Could I really tell someone to imitate me? Am I living a life according to the gospel that it would represent Jesus Christ? Could someone watch me and learn to life as Jesus call us to live?

WOW! I do not know. I do know that I am going to strive to live that life. To live a life that is worthy of the gospel, that is worthy to be a child of the living King.
