15 days

In 15 days, there will be over 2500 leaders from all over the country that will converge on to the Anderson Campus of NewSpring Church.  We will see senior pastors, worship leaders, student pastors, volunteers, paid staff, unpaid staff, etc. all come to learn what in the world has been happening at NewSpring Church.  It is crazy to think that this conference is SOLD OUT!!  Let me tell you, our Senior Pastor Perry Noble, is STOKED!!  He will bring the heat…

We will have our new student building open and that place is the jam!  You will need to stop by and check it out, by the way, that will be one of the venues that we use, so if you want a feel for how we do multi-site…that will be the ticket!!

I am excited about being able to connect with some of the leaders.  Are you registered for Unleash?  If so, let me know, I would love to be able to meet you!! Drop me a line through facebook, twitter, or my contact page.

See you there!!

I Will Fail, so What is Next?

God has been teaching me a lot lately.  I have been able to learn with a team, tell others what I have been learning and so on, but I just wanted to share.  The great thing about what I have been learning is that God has given me so many opportunities to put it in to practice. Needless to say, I believe what I have been learning is something that you need to learn.  So with that in mind, watch the video below and learn!!

Try. Fail. Learn. Adjust.

Columbia BHAG’s

We are so blessed!!  It seems that many things are being to take shape for our Columbia Campus. We have a lot excitement and momentum rolling and I am looking forward to be able to announce some of things that are coming up.  In the meantime…will you pray for the Columbia Campus?  If you are willing to pray, please pray for some of the following things:

  • Church Leadership: Pray for our…
Our Senior Pastor Perry Noble. That God will continue to fill him with vision for our church and protect him from the attacks of the enemy.
Senior Leadership Team. That God will continue to speak into these men as they are tasks with the weight of leading our church.
Staff.  Pray that God will lead to the right people to fill the staff positions for the Columbia Campus.
Me. That God will continue to grow in me the wisdom I need to lead this campus. Also that He will lead my family to where we need to live as we pour into the Columbia Campus.
  • Volunteers: Pray that God continues to build our Core Launch Team.  Everyone who wants to volunteer will be an essential part of our Core Launch Team.
  • Life Change: Pray that God will CHANGE lives through the ministry of our church of thousands of people who live in Columbia. We want God to: bring salvation for thousands, heal marriages, restore trust in relationships,  heal hurts, mend hearts, and much more.
  • Service Location: We are actively pursuing a certain location. Please pray that God will open the doors to the perfect location. Pray that God would reveal to the organization that runs the building, that we need to be there!!!
  • Technology: There are a couple of pieces of technology that we are looking for that we need to make some of the elements for our worship service the best possible.  Please pray that God will make those pieces of technology available to us and for a relatively low price :).

God is going to do some awesome things through this campus!!  Pray BHAG’s.  Big, Holy, Audacious Goals!!

Baptism at NewSpring

Yesterday, we had baptism at our Greenville and Anderson Campuses.  I love when we have baptism….it is so awesome to see people make a stand for Jesus and for people to be able to see an act that is representative of our new life that we receive in Christ.  Also at NewSpring we always have a video testimony of someone who needs to be baptized.  Well, this week, I got the privilege to find the story and it was of Steve Davis.  I am not going to try to explain, all I can say is One Church, Multiple Locations…watch it here…

Who is to blame for the economy?

I was reading an article in Time Magazine titled, 25 People to Blame for the Financial Crisis and some of it struck me.  Here are some of the names that were listed as to be at fault:

  • Alan Greenspan, Former Federal Reserve Chairman
  • Bill Clinton, 42nd President of the USA
  • Frank Raines, Former CEO of Fannie Mac
  • George W Bush, 43rd President of the USA
  • Angelo Mozilo, Co-Founder of Countrywide Mortgage

Some of the names were familiar and some were not, but #4 on the list is the one that struck me the most.  #4 on the list is no other than the American Consumer…that would be ALL of us.  There are probably a lot of thoughts on this one, but I personally think that the American Consumer should take the #1 spot!

Americans have a bad habit of buying on credit and not with the money they have in the possession. Some people say the banks are to blame, but I would contend that it is not the banks job to make sure that there is money in everyone’s account. Yes, our economy is screwed up, so who do you think is to blame??

To close, here are some quotes that I recently heard that struck me and are timely…

  • Peter Peterson had this to say in The New York Times in May, 1982:

Tomorrow’s needs are getting short shrift because the Great American Majority - the broad Middle Class - is choosing to consume rather than save for tomorrow.

  • Paul Hoffman, President of Studebakers Inc., said in January, 1947

…we have had 26 depressions in the last 200 years…because in periods of boom we have never so conducted ourselves as to prevent the cause of the ensuing bust.

  • H.E. Martz said in The Wall Street Journal in February, 1963:

Prosperity is when people buy things they can’t afford and recession is when they stop doing it.

Can you live off of $1500?

There is a family that decided to live off of $1500 for one year for groceries, household items, and personal care expenses.  WOW!  That is a budget of $125 a month for all that stuff.  Seems to be a little extreme, but they did start with a stockpile.  Needless to say, thought that it was interesting.  Here is the article and a direct link to thier blog!

Respect and Class

I saw this article on ESPN.  I thought that it showed a huge amount of respect and class.  Take a moment to read it!  It will be worth the time!!  I personally love that a there was a player who volunteered for the job!!  That was huge!!

Bill Clinton on Serving and Empowerment…

Bill Clinton was interviewed by Anne Curry and was asked a lot of questions on many different topics, but it was the end of the interview that caught my attention. You can watch the whole video below, but here are the statements that struck me:

  • “In the 21st century, it is going to be important for every citizen to not to just be an active, informed voter, but to also do some kind of citizen service.”
  • “The most important thing I can do now at this point in my life, besides try to save as many lives as possible, is to empower other people.”

What do you think??
