HUGE Baptism

Coming up on October 4th we are having a HUGE baptism. It is going to be awesome. We have asked our people to join in the parking lot for some tailgating before we get the baptism rolling and if last year is an indication….DANG….it will be AWESOME!!! Last week we had over 400 people sign up for the baptism and we are expecting more to come in the very near future.

So bring out the RV’s, tents, frisbees, grills, footballs, golf carts, and all the food you can. Tailgating will begin at 3PM and Baptism at 5PM!!! Don’t miss it!

PULSE 07 @ NewSpring

PULSE 07 was amazing! Last night, was a HUGE highlight in all of my days of ministry. It was so much fun to see students piled into the atrium waiting to get into the auditorium for the concert. The band rocked it out, Adrian did a great job, the energy was through the roof, and volunteers did an awesome job working with the students. In my humble opinion it was a HUGE success.

Here is the quick breakdown of the night:

  • Roughly 1345 students attended
  • 270 Salvations
  • Numerous students committing to live the sold out life for Jesus
  • Over 155 volunteers ministering to our students

I am so psyched about tomorrow! PULSE is going to be through the roof. I really feel that we are going to the auditorium will be full of teenagers from the Anderson area. We were able to tell so many students about PULSE tonight at the tailgate for the Hanna/Westside Game. Also they got a chance to hear the music and the scratchin of DJ Skillspinz. (He is bad to the bone.) Go to iTunes and checkout his music! Please pray that tomorrow that God will move in the hearts of the students who attend and hear about the love of Jesus. It is going to be crazy!

Donald Miller led Session #2: “How to Share the Gospel Without Weirding People Out”:

Here are some notes:

  • Christianity is easy when it is just us, but when others come into the conversation-its something else. Why? Is it because I am ashamed?
  • When a culture is only influenced by itself, when they do not communicate, share ideas with the outside it becomes goofier. It gets to the point where they cannot communicate.
  • Jesus never took the time to explain the story/give the point. It was done in the story, by the story, through the story.
  • The human heart desires a story.
  • Erosion of values has caused the story to decline.
  • Never underestimate your role in the story.
  • Evangelism in a nutshell is: inviting people into a better story.
  • “Write every day, line by line, page by page, hour by hour. Do this despite fear. For above all else, beyond imagination and skill, what the world asks of you is courage, courage to risk rejection, ridicule and failure.
