Chic-Fil-A Corporate Purpose:

To glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us.  To have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-Fil-A.

“How do we balance the pursuit of profit and personal character? For me, I find that balance by applying Biblical principles. I see no conflict between Biblical principles and good business practices. We’ve tried to operate Chick-Fil-A that way from the beginning.”  Truett Cathy

It has been a LOONG time since I posted on my blog. There has been a lot going on in my life and also in the life of NewSpring Church! Here are some of the highlights since my last post:

  • Officiated a wedding for Adam & Laura Blanton at the Cliffs at Glassy. The chapel there is BEAUTIFUL…it is set on the side of the mountain with an unbelievable view!
  • Middle School Gauntlet…check out the videos here.
  • 104 Middle Schoolers get baptized.
  • High School Gauntlet…check out the videos here.
  • 34 High Schoolers get baptized.
  • Move JLand into his new diggs.
  • Move Sandy & Andrea to the Queen City for 10 months!
  • Got introduced to Jason’s Deli…that place is GREAT!
  • First counseling appointment at the Greenville Campus.

Some neat things that have been going on, but I am looking forward to some things that are planned for the future!!! Love what I am doing!!

Just announced by Sharp that in September you will be able to buy the TV below!

What is so special about this TV, well it is a 108 inch LCD beast!!! Check out the story at this link! Sharp hasn’t released a price, but with using a handy Japanese currency conversion calculator the estimated cost would be $100,000!

DANG!!!!

I went to lunch today with Will Rodes to talk about Hawaii.  He and his wife are planning on going at the end of this month, so he wanted to ask me some questions.  By the way, he paid for my lunch…way awesome!

On our way back, I started to notice the numerous political signs.  You know the ones that say vote for me, vote for me!  Well, in a stretch of road of 2.5 miles.  I counted 57 signs for one candidate!  This guy put out 57 signs to promote himself in just under 2.5 miles and this was on the SAME road, no turns or anything!  The math tells me that there was a sign every 77 yards! At one point there were 19 signs at one intersection of the road!

Do you think that is smart?  Do you think that is stupid?  Do you think it is a waste of money/resources?

I wonder if sometimes saturating your target too much can turn people away from the product or desired result?!?!?!

So I hear that today is Super Tuesday!  I am not really sure that I really care.  I was thinking about it last night and trying to decide if I really care about the hoopla surrounding today… a day considered “the largest presidential primary day in American history.”  There are reports that some people are whining, some people defending others, and early poll predictions.  I guess it is cool to say that I have seen history take place.  Oh well, we will see what happens and if anyone wins the nomination!

News out of South Carolina…we might be DRUG testing all of those  aspiring for public office!  Yes, this is the state I live in!  WOW!!

Personal Note:

Today I am looking forward to a GREAT Tuesday for me because of a couple reasons:

  • I am having lunch with my beautiful wife.
  • I am putting the finishing touches on the message for tomorrow night…EPIC-Prophets.
  • The process of moving dirt for our new youth and children’s buildings…a picture to follow.
  • Two of the students in my small group will be hanging out at the office for Service Learning! Fun times!
  • Meeting with my team this afternoon…they are awesome!
  • NewSpring Membership Class tonight.

Wal-Mart. Low Prices. Supermarket. Groceries. Clothes. Pets (Fish). Medicine. Furniture. Toys. Car Repair. Garden Supplies. General House Supplies. Smiley Face :) that is rolling back prices all over the store. They have it all! If you need something and you are not quite sure where to get it, then all you need to do it go to Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart will more than likely have what you are looking for or the generic equivalent to the product. Matter of fact, they even say that you will “Save Money. Live Better.” by shopping at Wal-Mart.

I have to concede that they have a lot of stuff in their store, but their stores sometimes really frustrated the heck of of me. You can go to any Wal-Mart and their is always a TON of people there no matter what time it is, but for some reason they only have 5% of their check-out machines open. Why have all those check out machines if you are not going to have people to run them? Just wondering!

Anyways, that is not the reason for my post…the reason for my post is that I never thought I would find this in Wal-Mart!

Jesus for only $14.95 Jesus and David

So…go to your local Wal-Mart and get your toy Jesus for the low, low, price of $14.97!!! Not only do they have Jesus, but they also have David, Sampson, Noah, and Moses!  I don’t know they may be collectibles…

I have burned I-85 between Greenville and Anderson many, many times!  Well, the other day, Andrew Sentell and I were on our way from a meeting with a volunteer. By the way, we ate at Smoke on the Water.  It was a great casual restaurant that had very good barbecue.  I was not very sure about it at first, but I was pleased with the tastiness of the food and the price of it as well.  If you are in the West End District, be sure to check it out!!

Anyways, I saw this HEAVY LOAD being transported, it had to be the largest Dump Truck I have ever seen:

Dump Truck      Dump Truck2

Okay, maybe not, but I thought that this was hilarious and wanted to share it with others!!  Yes, that is a TONKA Dump Truck on the back of a flatbed 18-Wheeler!  The driver had it ratcheted down and everything!
